Chaos

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, an dyou will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ~ Matthew 11:28-30

Does this sound familiar – hectic schedules, overwhelming responsibilities, and massive to-do lists? Perhaps there are kids to drive to endless activities, a never ending pile of laundry, errands to run, dinner to cook, a house to clean, lunches to prepare.  Maybe a spouse that desires your time and attention.  Waking up in the night worrying about what you weren’t able to get done, what you did wrong, and what the future holds.

Or are you living through a season of loneliness?  Have tasks and busyness replaced many relationships in your life?  Maybe your heart is overwhelmed with grief and sorrow that keeps rising to the surface despite your attempts to bury the pain. It could be unforgiveness you keep holding onto even though you can feel the bitterness setting in.  That nagging pressure of keeping up with others.  And the guilt you feel over all the mistakes, the inadequacies, the areas where you just keep coming up short.

This is the chaos of our lives.  But there is hope.  It is found only in Christ.  He is calling us to a life of peace even among the chaos.

Join me in the Word as we keep our focus on Christ even among our chaos.
